Andy Guthrie

Founder and Senior Musical Director


Andy is a music and choral leader with over 20 years' professional experience across a broad range of music. His vision is to inspire and enable amateur singers to achieve success and bring the positive power of singing into their lives. He setup The Workplace Choir Company to enable businesses to develop their business by developing their people.  He is also a Mercury-nominated producer!


Ula Weber

Musical Director - Midlands and SW

Ula is a singer and conductor whose work has taken her around the world. She sings with the renowned choir Ex Cathedra, and is Project Leader for their internationally acclaimed Singing Playgrounds Project. She delivers conducting courses for the national choral organisation Sing for Pleasure, and conducts SO Vocal (a community choir run by the CBSO) and Echo Doliny (The National Polish Folk Choir of Great Britain).

Dan Ludford-Thomas

Musical Director - London & SE

Dan is a singing teacher and choir leader whose experience includes rehearsing choirs for the BBC's The Choir programme with Gareth Malone - he does the bits you don't see on the telly. He is Director of the Lewisham Choral Society.

Tom Guthrie

Musical Director - London & SE

Tom is an actor, singer and opera director who believes passionately in community and amateur arts participation. He has directed and sung in operas at The Royal Opera House and sings with the internationally renowned choirs Tenebrae and The Tallis Scholars. As well as performing internationally and for Radio 3 & 4 he has recorded with John Eliot Gardner and Polyphony with Stephen Layton.

Tim Allen
Musical Director
- North of England

Timothy Allen has been working with amateur singers for twenty years. His passion is helping people to find the confidence to sing, and he’s brought that enthusiasm to well over 6,000 singers in his career. Much in demand as a workshop leader and vocal coach, he’s worked alongside the likes of Brian May, David Grant and Leeds College of Music, in projects from community choirs to gala performances at the Royal Albert Hall.

Julie Morrice
Musical Director
- Southern & Central Scotland

Julie trained at the Kodaly Institute in Hungary and leads choirs for the National Youth Choir of Scotland.

She sings with the Scottish Chamber Choir, performance group Three Broads and a Piano and is conductor of The Broughton Choral Society. She teaches singing privately and believes passionately in the transforming power of amateur music-making.


Margaret Rae
Musical Director
- Central and Northern Scotland

Margaret Rae is a choral leader and musician based in Inverness. She conducts the National Youth Choir of Scotland’s Inverness Area Choirs, and is Musical Director of In Cahoots Choir.

Margaret runs teacher training courses for Highland Council and the University of Highlands and Isalnds to encourage more singing in schools. She also leads Songsquad© projects – which combine enterprise education with singing.
